Feb02 Grey’s Top Ten Most Romantic Elopements 2012

For those of you brides-to-be who are just starting to feel the stress of planning a big wedding, there’s always the temptation to elope! In honor of all the impulsive romance that will be in the air this month, our Grey’s Greatest series is taking you around the web to round up the ten most romantic elopements. Just in case you were thinking about running off with your betrothed for an intimate wedding, we’ve got you covered. Be sure to click on the links to see more images of each elopement!

If you’re are looking for the most romantic elopement setting with tons of decor and details–just for the two of you–then this is perfect inspiration. Here’s one of our all time favorite small celebrations shot by Aaron Delesie and designed by Lisa Vorce. See much more from this wedding at the original feature on Style Me Pretty.

As far as romantic beach weddings go, it does not get more sweet than this very intimate affair on Summerland beach. After exchanging vows, the couple immediately hit the edge of the surf to soak in (literally) their newly married status. Check out the original feature on Once Wed, with lots more images by Lacie Hansen.

If you are looking for absolute adventure, check out how this couple planned a New Zealand elopement. Their ceremony location on a local summit required a helicopter escort–talk about an adventurous walk down the aisle! These serene images were shot by Kate MacPherson. Check out more of the adventure here!

If you’ve got little ones, then this intimate family-style elopement shot by Jill Thomas is the perfect way to seal your hearts with a bridal party that’s close to home. You can see more images at the original feature on 100 Layer Cake and on Jill’s blog.

Our favorite post-elopement toast was from this San Francisco ceremony. After exchanging vows before the Justice of the Peace, the couple made their way downtown to a favorite local pub for a round of drinks with their small handful of attendees. Images by JB Reed.

The absolute best elopement dress, which we think reflects the spontaneity and whimsy of last minute nuptials is Magalie and Mike’s wedding that was planned in EIGHT…that’s right, EIGHT days. Talk about stress free! You can see more images at the original feature on Postcards and Pretties, on Magalie’s blog, The Demoiselle, and on their lovely photographer, Jen Lauren Grant’s blog. You must check out how Magalie put together her “dress.” Brilliant styling!

San Francisco City Hall is the most iconic venue for romantic elopements. There’s so much history, tradition, and grand architecture that rivals some of the world’s best wedding venues. Oh yeah. And it’s a public building. Check our more of Shu and Lin’s wedding at the original feature on Snippet and Ink, shot by Kate Harrison.

We’re pretty sure, even if you are eloping, that a stunning bouquet is a must. This handmade wedding features one of our all time favorite bouquets…ever!! Florals were designed Kathleen Hyppolite. You can see the original feature on Green Wedding Shoes, with images taken by Scott Clark.

Leave it to New Yorkers to choose a wedding wardrobe that just exudes personality! We love Dory and Chris’s out-of-the-box style that is so unexpected and perfect elopement style! For more images from this wedding, check out Ruffled Blog with images by Jen Huang.

Last but not least, we thought you’d enjoy a wedding elopement video! This is one of our all time favorites and really conveys the feeling and romance of choosing to exchange your vows in the most intimate way possible! This beautiful video was created by Brit Simmons and was originally featured on Design Sponge. Be sure to check out the original feature for lots more details!

One of the chicest veils on the happiest looking bride! (That veil is by Delphine Manivet just in case you were wondering. You were, weren’t you?) We adore this incredibly fun wedding shot by AmyPunky Photography.

This wedding is so California chic–and rightly so–the bride is Morgan, an alumni of MTV’s Laguna Beach. Shot by Jill Thomas.
