I want to become a society lady Rockin' a new rock?!

Our favorite floral designer (possibly of all time) is Anna LePley Taylor, who just so happens to be the driving force behind our Secrets of a Stylist Workshop (of which the only date we’re offering this year so far happens to be coming up in a few short weeks: July 23rd!), came together with a crazy group of talented wedding pros to put together this inspiration shoot which we hope you’ll love (and start a new trend!). Yellow! Gold! Glamour!!! Together with photographer Diana McGregor, and design team, Jill & Co Events, they created a really drop dead stunner of shoot that we are up in arms about (in all the right ways). Anna is going to tell you all about the details whilst we revel in the glory that is sunshiney yellow goodness.

From Anna LePley Taylor:

Being a florist, often we are often given the responsibility of creating the tone of the wedding based on the color selected for the florals. I think it goes without saying that we see a lot of the same color requests over and over again. Most of these selections are based on the colors from styled shoots that have become popular and so when thinking about what kind of shoot we wanted to create, I wanted to combine a fresh take on colors.

Additionally, so many weddings recently have been “rustic” and we wanted to depart from this and give couples planning their weddings freedom to shamelessly return to elegant with a hint of modern.

The combination of deep antique gold and pale yellows reminds me of a late summer afternoon when the light becomes glowy. The opulent spilling tablecloth combined with the full romantic wedding dress by the lakeside is reminiscent of the old, lush south. Adding in elements of the groom’s white suit, clear glass plates, ghost chairs, and lucite reminds us that this couple is not entirely old-school southern elegance, but has a touch of modern and edge.

We hope you are as inspired by we were by this shoot!
