Happy weekend darlings! Guess what I am doing tomorrow??? Going to my bridal shower!!!! I can’t tell you how excited I am. One of the things that has surprised me about the whole wedding process is the uncomfortable feeling of letting people “shower” you. My bridesmaids have been working so hard on the shower, and it’s so humbling. I have weepy moments every time I see how much work has gone into the planning. Are you kidding? All this for me? No. I can’t. This is just way too much–it’s so much easier being the person doing this kind of thing for others!!! I love to serve others and throw showers, but accepting such generosity? It’s much harder than I thought it would be. All that to say, hopefully I can make it through tomorrow without completely breaking down in sobs. We are going to be sure to have a photographer on hand, so you’ll get to see the entire play-by-play, don’t worry!
But I’d love to know…as a bride, did you find it a little tough to accept all of the effort, time, and gifts poured out over you? Or do I sound completely crazy?
Anyhow, as we head off into the wonderful weekend, I wanted to show you this cake by City View Bakehouse which was featured on Wedding Chicks. I love it so much!! (You must see the entire feature shot by Rachel Peters Photography.)
If I were a cake, this is the dress I’d wear:
Is it just us, or is red near about the most vivacious color ever? We’re proving the point today with another shoot in honor of Valentine’s Day! Jaime of On Pointe Floral Design created this city inspired styled floral photo shoot. She wanted to bring the timeless feel of NYC to the small town of Rexburg, Idaho where she currently designs. Their inspiration started with the idea to create a table runner made from fresh florals–which is an absolute show stopper! And the cake by Ashley’s Cakes by Designs is the perfect compliment! Very special thanks to Kimbry Studios for sharing such gorgeous images!Click to expand for more
Valentine’s Day is next week and we thought you’d love a little sweet treat inspiration. If you are baker, pretty sure your man might love a variety of pretty white treats like these. This dessert table is a winter approach to Valentine’s Day–I think my favorite idea is the “snow to go!” What a darling idea! Very special thanks to the team that created this gorgeous shoot: Q Weddings Photography, Polkadots Cupcake Factory (cake and baked goods), Stationery Bakery (paper embellishments), and Furbish (furniture rentals).
There’s nothing that says, “I love you” on Valentine’s Day like a few pounds of weight gain. Am I right?Click to expand for more
Stylist Ashley Nicole sent us this gorgeous Moroccan inspired shoot that is all about those gorgeous cakes! We love the idea of an ultra creative set up for your cake station. Ashley styled this shoot with Jenna Rae Cakes and we think the result is ultra creative! I’m so inspired to think up different ways to display dessert!! And we’re obsessed with all these fall colors. OH! And that grey dress??? Out of control!
