I want to become a society lady Rockin' a new rock?!

We’re currently in the midst of a renewed love affair with orchids and Natasha and Michael’s wedding at Terranea Resort is filled to the brim with the graphic white blooms. Planned by Amber Events, the day included a ceremony under an arch of orchids overlooking the sea followed by a traditional ballroom reception complete with personalized touches. All the gorgeous florals were created by Heirloom Design House, invitations by Copper Willow Paper Studio and the bride wore a Winnie Couture gown. The couple enlisted Jon Cu to capture all the details in these lovely images.

What made the wedding special and unique?

Our wedding was so special to us because it really showed the love that Mike and I have for each other. Each accent of the wedding embraced the love we share.

Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!

My Winnie Couture wedding gown was simple but very elegant. I found my gown while dress shopping with my mom. It was one of the first gowns I tried on and loved, but wanted to try on gowns at other stores before making my “YES” decision. After trying several gowns on, I decided I loved the first dress I tried on at Winnie Couture.

What were some touches added to make the wedding personal?

Our wedding was wonderful because of all the great vendors we had, but it was even more special because Mike and I shared the same wedding vision. Every aspect of the wedding was special from picking orchids as our main flower for the ceremony, to each wedding song played during the ceremony.

What was the most memorable part of the day?

The whole day and evening was memorable but one of the most special moments to me was “the first look.” Waiting to see Mike the whole morning all dressed up was worth the anticipation!

Tell us how you met and became engaged.

We first met on JDate about 6 years ago and went on a few dates. I then got accepted to pharmacy school in New York during the time we were dating and learned I had to move for five years! Long distance for five years would have SUCKED! We then parted ways but remained friends/acquaintances on social media/text. About two and a half years ago, I randomly texted Mike saying, ”Hi, how are you?” and he immediately responded. We were inseparable ever since. The way Mike proposed was beyond clever but I was extremely surprised! He proposed at the Montage Beverly Hills and made me feel like a PRINCESS! One of the best days of my life! It was a true gift marrying him.
