I want to become a society lady Rockin' a new rock?!

Virginia and Jason, as you can tell from the photos, are an incredibly delightful (and gorgeous) couple that decided to create an incredibly joyful wedding for family and friends. The bride’s dress (a combo of a crop top from Blaque Label and a skirt from J.Crew is a definite show stopper for us, as is the sunny color of yellow used throughout the day! You are going to have to try hard not to smile as you check out these images by Reverie Supply.

Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!

I actually didn’t find my own gown! My best man, Dani had found it while he was shopping in the city and when he found the skirt, he had immediately called me. I knew I was always going to be a different bride with an alternative gown. But when he let me know about this skirt, I just had to wear a two piece and so fitting to my personality. This is why, brides should have a best man as well!

What made the wedding special and unique?

The wedding was special to us because it incorporated everyone and everything we loved: being surrounded by close friends and family and and just being ourselves without all the formalities of a wedding. The wedding venue was at Il Tulipano and it was a wonderful choice for this classy yet whimsical wedding. The open space and light filled room was the perfect canvas to dress up. We loved that both of our mothers wore a traditional Korean dress. The pop of colors from their outfits were an absolute unique and beautiful addition to the wedding.

What were some touches added to make it personal?

So many little details such as cotton candy, little fun facts about us, florals designed by our good friend, a photobooth, and jars filled with ideas for date nights and our future children’s names were all incoporated to have a fun, laid back wedding! When creating the stationary for this wedding with graphic artist, we wanted that represented us. Jason, being a writer, loved books and always wore his thick glasses. I, being in the fashion and beauty world, loved long feathery lashes. So, Ellen created beautiful icons for lashes and glasses to represent this couple, inspired by Kate Spade. It was adored by all of our guests!

What was the most memorable part of the day?

My wedding dress was definitely a show stopper. In the middle of the ceremony, I was asked to turn around to show our guests the unique dress I had picked out! And I cannot forget the sun drenched portrait session. Tall grasses that were windswept, the radiant sun, and just me and my husband after saying “I do”. My photographer had asked my now husband to twirl me around with the sun against our back…It was magical!

Tell us how you met and became engaged.

We met through a friend and ever since, became inseparable since then. We got engaged after two years of dating and being that I was a very non traditional bride, Jason had the hardest time picking out a ring! For our engagement photos, Reverie Supply had taken us to a beautiful book cafe in Brooklyn called Milk & Roses and celebrated our engagement with my favorite book, Lucky Magazine and some good cup of joes!
