I want to become a society lady Rockin' a new rock?!

Bobbie Jean and Alan decided that the most idyllic way to marry one another was to whisk away to Beltane Ranch in Sonoma for a romantic elopement, with the groom’s parents there as witnesses. They could not have picked a more gorgeous day (or location!) to exchange vows, and we are totally in love with the sweet details of the day, captured by White Ivory Photography.

Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!

I wanted a simple gown that was comfortable and fun (with pockets)! It was purchased at Traditions by Anna in Raleigh, NC. And I just loved the name of the designer, Lula Kate! The beaded accent at the waist was added by my seamstress and I chose to wear a french lace bolero to add a vintage touch.

What made the wedding special and unique?

Our wedding was special and unique because it was all about us, it was everything we envisioned in our special day, no stress, all smiles!

What were some touches added to make it personal?

Personal touches included hints of blue ( his favorite color) and orange ( her favorite color). A beautiful pearl and diamond butterfly necklace, purchased by the groom for his bride and a butterfly brooch in the bouquet, both which represented the brides mother who passed away from cancer 5 years prior.

What was the most memorable part of the day?

Some of the most memorable parts of the day was the morning we said I do which included breakfast and feeding the properties horses. Alan spent time with his dad at a local baseball card shop and the I spent the day with my future mother-in-law whom I consider to be my “mom”. It was also special to have her walk me down the path to my groom who was waiting for me with his best man–his dad. They served as our witnesses which meant so much.

Tell us how you met and became engaged!

We met several years prior at the gym, he said I impressed him with my arm exercises! The proposal was the day of the Alan’s parents’ 35th wedding anniversary! Our English bulldog carried the ring to me in a sock which was inspiration for the Alan’s wedding day socks!
