I want to become a society lady Rockin' a new rock?!

A truly international celebration; Sarah who is Australian-Chinese and Piers from the UK, decided to get married on a beautiful winery estate in Tuscany called Conti San Bonifacio. The celebration embraced a fusion of cultures starting with the traditional Chinese tea ceremony followed by an outdoor ceremony overlooking the beautiful rolling Tuscan hills. Vendor Funkbird Firenze stole the show with playful and punchy coral, pink and magenta florals all over the place—a lovely ceremony arbor, chair florals, and gorgeous centerpieces on the family-style tables. We’re loving the light-hearted spirit of the couple the shines in the mustache and pink lip place cards and their coordinating magenta accessories—Manolo Blahniks for her and bowtie for him. What made the wedding special and unique?

It was intimate, carefree and a celebration of love and friendship. The day was perfect (my husband did so well planning it all!) and was full of fun and laughter for my nearest and dearest!

Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!

This was the most difficult choice for me for the whole wedding; I had been indecisive and liked most wedding dresses I tried on. Having decided that I wanted a backless dress, I was looking everywhere around London, but came across Zahavit’s dresses in the shop just next to my office (Les Trois Soeurs in Canary Wharf) and I was in love! I was lucky enough to sign up for her trunk show at the store and met Zahavit in person! She listened to the styles I like, the venue and destination and in the end she chose this dress for me. When I tried it on, I knew I had to get it!

What were some touches added to make the wedding personal?

My father-in-law acted as the celebrant to the ceremony (as we had registered the marriage at our local registry in the UK a few days before) and it was quite special for us; we are pleased to have him play such a key role on our big day! Also, we decided a wedding cake was not needed as the venue already provided plenty of delicious Italian desserts (and sponge cake isn’t very Italian!).

What was the most memorable part of the day?

Every moment of it, but particularly special moments include: our vows in front of friends, speeches from my dad and sister (both live in Australia!), drinking wine in the vineyard with friends while doing our photo shoots, jumping on the bed with my bridesmaids, and dancing the night away to the best music!

Tell us how you met and became engaged.

We met at work in Autumn 2010 and got on very well! We started going out a couple of months later and everything else just fell into place. He proposed when we were on a trip to New York 3 1/2 years later; it was on top of the Rockefeller Center and very much unexpected! I said “Yes!” when he pulled out the box (before he even had the chance to ask!).
