I want to become a society lady Rockin' a new rock?!

Katherine and Manuel has a lovely Charleston wedding day with a classic church ceremony and a lovely reception held on the grounds of the historic Middleton Place. The couple enlisted A Charleston Bride to both plan the event and execute the amazing florals. We love the tented garden party with suspended florals and wreaths everywhere—SO pretty. We’re also crazy about the beautiful images by Sean Money + Elizabeth Fay. You guys have to see the way they captured Katherine’s veil—breathtaking!

What made the wedding special and unique?

I think the food done by Cru was phenomenal. The strings at the ceremony and cocktail hour, the unique touches like the suspended florals over the head table, the greenery and the vintage china made the wedding special. The band, Mo’ Sol, was so fun! I hardly left the dance floor!

Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!

My gown is by Anne Barge and was purchased in Chicago at Belle Vie Bridal Couture.

What were some touches added to make it personal?

The welcome bags were made by Manuel’s uncle and the name tags and bookmarks for the welcome bags were made by my uncle. Instead of table numbers we had the names of all the places we’ve traveled together written on vintage china. At the reception one of the guests said, “This has Katherine written all over it.” That made me feel great!

What was the most memorable part of the day?

Being surrounded by friends and family and feeling so much love. The weekend was such a blast. I’ll always remember the doors opening into the sanctuary and seeing Manuel standing at the end of the aisle.

Tell us how you met and became engaged.

We met in Chicago at work. I had moved there from Dallas to be closer to family and the first job I got was a the same company as where Manuel worked. We got engaged after dating for about 2.5 years. Manuel surprised me with a vacation to Italy. He proposed in Florence the first night we got there! It was so special.
