I want to become a society lady Rockin' a new rock?!

Bride: Sharon and Kanishk were married at The Carneros Inn located in the always perfect Napa, California. Wine country was the perfect setting for their family filled wedding, which was equally romantic and fun! Photographer Melanie Duerkopp is responsible for capturing all the gorgeous details designed by Kayla Ton and we are so honored to be sharing the images with you today!

What made the wedding special and unique?

There were so many little things (and big things) that went into this day to make it special, but if I must point to one thing, it has to be the dress! Everything else was designed around it: the venue, the flowers, the linen, the plating, bridesmaids’ dresses, the groom’s attire, even the cocktails selection.

Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!

The gown is from Monique Lhuillier. There are two pieces to it: the main dress and the overskirt. The main dress is the Candy in peach blush. The overskirt is a special-order in the peach, blush, and white combination. I found it at the Monique Lhuillier trunk show at Bridal Galleria in San Francisco.

What were some touches added to make it personal?

We chose to have a calligrapher scribe the seating arrangement on a mirror so that we can remember the friends and family who were at our wedding. We tasted and handpicked every dish, hors d’oeuvre, and dessert served that day. We colluded with the wedding party to surprise everyone with our own version of the “Harlem Shake.”

What was the most memorable part of the day?

It’s hard to pick just one part! I loved the entire day. I remember telling Kayla, my wedding planner, that part of the reason I wasn’t drinking (besides being allergic to alcohol in general) was because I wanted to remember every second of it; and I did! I think the best highlights for me were when he turned around to see me in the gown for the first time and when we exchanged vows to each other. He read his vows. It was beautifully written–deep, meaningful, filled with love and commitment, and so very formal. As tears pricked my eyes when he finished reading, I couldn’t help but laugh as I began reading mine, “Hey babe….”
