I want to become a society lady Rockin' a new rock?!

Nikki and Patrick are a super cute couple–to start, um, both of them chimed in on their interview to tell you about their sweet wedding. So, obv we love that. Second, they had a seriously fun wedding. With a rustic barn at Vinewood Plantation in Newnan Georgia as the backdrop, Nikki and her wedding planner Eva Clark of Belle of the Ball Events went all out with the glam, creating a perfect combo of his and hers, rustic chic! We are dying over the gorg florals by Tulip Blooming Creations and can’t even deal with these beautiful photos by Masa Kathryn of Three Pennies Photography.

What made the wedding special and unique?

Patrick: What made our wedding day special? It was the one and only day that I got to marry my best friend and the most beautiful woman I know. What made our day unique was all of the things that were unplanned and unexpected. A summer thunderstorm decided to down pour just before our outdoor ceremony. But having the ceremony shifted indoors made it so much more intimate and somehow made it feel even more like everyone was involved. During our ceremony I was able to look just past my wife’s shoulder and see all of our friends and family staring right back at us which made it feel like they were sharing the moment with us instead of just watching.

Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!

Nikki: I found my gown at Buckhead Bridals which is a small Anne Barge boutique in Atlanta. With Starbucks in hand, I dragged my mom, my maid of honor, and my niece to their once a year sample sale/trunk show at the crack of dawn to wait in line with dozens of other brides to be. It was the second dress I put on and the moment my best friend zipped me into it, we knew! It was everything I thought I didn’t want in a dress, yet so perfect! And the ridiculously reduced price was something we couldn’t pass up! Two things that personalized my dress: One – I found the most beautiful Swarovski crystal belt at Fabulous Frocks which I will pass down to my daughters. One of my best friends also wore the belt as her something borrowed just three months after I was married in it! It’s already a family treasure! Two – I found the most talented seamstress to alter my gown, which I highly recommend. Having your gown fit perfectly can make all the difference in the world! And the most fun part is she made the cap sleeves on my gown removable so that after the ceremony, I could raise my arms and dance at the reception.

What were some touches added to make it personal?

Patrick: We (and when I say we I mean Nikki) has a very great sense of style and elegance. She was able to make our wedding look so beautiful, but also give it a warm home kind of feeling. We have a lot of memories from making many of the things for the wedding ourselves like the little girls’ wands, invitations, guest book, and many of the decorations. Our friends collected wine bottles for months that my mom spray painted gold and glittered. They were perfect additions to the tables and personal for us since our friends collected the bottles and my mom decorated them. I am known to like to sip on bourbon, so we had a bourbon bar set up for our guest that are like me. Nikki has a sweet tooth, so we chose a dessert bar instead of one large traditional wedding cake. With all of these special touches, great food, drinks, music, and friends….the night was perfectly “us”.

What was the most memorable part of the day?

The most memorable part of the day for both of us was the “first look”. We went back and forth about whether or not to do it, but in the end, felt like it would be a special moment we would share together with just the two of us before all of the festivities. And it truly was. I’ll never forget the look on Patrick’s face as he turned around to see me, or the trembling of his hands as we held ours together, or glancing back and seeing our family and friends peaking their heads out of the windows to catch a glimpse of us.
