Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!

Danielle and Taylor were living in Switzerland throughout their engagement. Danielle’s cousin (and bridesmaid) was living in London at the time, which is where Vivienne Westwood’s studio is located. While Danielle visited, she and her cousin set out to find the perfect dress. Danielle knew she wanted a non-traditional dress and Westwood, had the gown she was looking for. From the moment she tried it on she knew it was “the one”. Later in the year, while on her bachelorette party in Paris, she found incredibly detailed Sergio Rossi shoes that completed her overall look.

What made the wedding special and unique? / What were some touches added to make it personal?

Danielle’s family shipped her and Taylor olive oil from her family’s olive grove in Greece, which was provided on the tables for guests to enjoy, and gifted next to Swiss chocolates they had sent from Geneva to complete their welcome boxes.

Each guest’s place setting was personalized with laser cut wooden place cards; corresponding wood pieces included engraved stir sticks for escort cards, menus, stamped with their wedding brand up top and chair signs that read, “I Belong With You,” “You Belong With Me,” lyrics from a favorite The Lumineers’ song, Ho Hey.

While living in Switzerland, Danielle and Taylor fell in love with the song C’est La Vie, which Katie Boeck of Élan Artists sang beautifully as Danielle’s father escorted her down the aisle. This inspired the overall French aesthetic, which you’ll see was carried out through their tablescapes, French bistro chairs, seating vignettes and décor. Their seamless white dance floor was customized with their “DT” wedding brand.

Danielle’s father collects antiques, and stumbled upon a beautiful apricot cake stand which became Danielle and Taylor’s accent color for their wedding. It can also be found in their invitation suite and glassware. To complete the evening guests enjoyed In-N-Out burger sliders, and root beer floats; Danielle and Taylor’s favorite late night snack!

What was the most memorable part of the day?

Danielle says walking down the aisle and seeing Taylor standing at the altar was the most memorable part of the day. Furthermore, they were blessed with the most beautiful California sunset that took place during their Oceanside reception. She said she’d never forget looking out over all the tables, with Taylor seeing all of their closest family and friends, was “absolutely the most perfect moment.”

Tell us how you met and became engaged.

Danielle and Taylor met the good old fashioned way…in a bar in Chicago. It was Danielle’s 23rd birthday, and Taylor’s friends prompted Danielle and her friends to join their table for a drink. She and Taylor have been together ever since!

Danielle and Taylor’s permanent residence is in Phoenix, Arizona. They had been traveling due to Taylor’s job for years by that time, and finally arrived back home after his hockey season had been completed. As Danielle waited for him to get the “house keys” from their car, Danielle waited at the door. When Taylor approached the front door steps, he got down on one knee and popped the question.
