Ali and Jason’s wedding in Southhampton has all the makings of a classic, relaxed backyard affair. Celebrated at the bride’s summer house, the details of the day included an all-white bridal party and all-white florals by Sag Harbor Florist, a stunning lace Anna Maier gown, a ceremony under the trees on the private property followed by a white tent reception and a giant four-tier naked cake with alternating layers of baby’s breath. What made the wedding special and unique?
We were lucky enough to be able to get married at our favorite place in the world at my summer house in Southampton. We love that we will be able to look around the house for many years to come and remember our wedding and how special it was.
Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it?
It was the first dress I tried on actually! Saks was having a trunk show, and I saw it hanging there and just had to try it on! Working with the alterations team at Anna Maier was a dream come true, they are amazing and were able to customize the back of the dress and make a huge cut out.
What were some touches added to make the wedding personal?
We got married on my mom’s 60th birthday, so as a surprise to her, right after we cut our cake, we brought out carrot cake and everyone at the wedding sang happy birthday to her. It was amazing.
What was the most memorable part of the day?
Getting ready with my girlfriends and hanging out in my house. It felt like a normal Saturday all eating lunch together while the boys were outside hanging at the pool. Also Jason’s vows were my favorite thing ever, there was not a dry eye.
Tell us how you met and became engaged.
We met in high school, and he proposed to me with a prank by calling me and telling me my apartment had been broken into… mean!
