from the planner: Creating a gorgeous wedding space in an authentic Italian villa, and having an enchanting Mediterranean canvas to create a majestic work from our palette of colours, styles, and textures, our stylists and planners were thrilled to craft one of our most ambitious styled shoots yet. Inspired by a floral approach, with an overarching loose and organic framework in recreating a beautiful garden for a wedding space, our stylists and planners had worked with plenty of textures and colors to create something so vibrant and beautiful. From pale shades of pink, lilac, and white, to hues of brown and grey to attune the mood to the Mediterranean land, our piece is truly an “old world” style through a modern approach.

To authentically capture the old world theme, a trip to Florence in Italy was the only way to truly encapsulate such an eclectic style. And no better place is there than the famous Villa Le Fontalle, a fifteenth century farm situated on the beautiful Florentine valley overlooking an awe-inspiring view that has drawn many to its quarters for hundreds of years. And so too were we drawn to the historic villa for our styled shoot. Making perfect use of the centuries – old villa’s pristine gardens, its historic terraces, and building a beautiful scene overlooking the rolling hills of Florence was a truly magical experience.

For the floral approach, our stylists had employed various effervescent bouquets of varying colours in a multitude of hues; from carnation pink to a regal lilac purple, all playfully brought together in a context drawn out by lush and powerful greenery strewn about the villa’s old world walls, creating an eternally beautiful and altogether magical aesthetic. For the wedding space’s choice in stationeries, our stylists had hand-picked several elements that exemplify a light and airy theme set in an old world villa style; using light shades of pink and violet, hints of gold, and incorporating an old wax seal with the softest pink ribbons creates an uplifting and elegant atmosphere that’s inescapably enchanting.

With a simplistic and minimalist cake ensemble that ever-so-slightly incorporates the Mediterranean greenery, an awe-inspiring ring and ringbox which echoes the overall light and airy theme, and all the assorted accessories used to build an organic and lively tablescape in true old world fashion, our styled shoot is a true beauty to behold. So come along with us, join in our journey to a Florentine villa in a world born centuries in the past yet lives and breathes to this very day. Experience the allure of an old world aesthetic, and be enchanted by our latest styled shoot, “Old World Villa”.
