We are LOVING this bright, adorable, and oh-so-stylish engagement at The Belmont Hotel, a historic 1940’s Dallas hotel. Photographer Jenny McCann spearheaded the creative direction capitalizing on the retro vibe of the location capturing the couple’s chemistry beginning with cozy drinks in the hotel to delightful tromps around the grounds. We’re totally into the styling and love the way Ashley’s wardrobe of bold tomato red and lavender silk stands out against the graphic colors of the venue while TJ keeps things grounded with his tailored Mad-Men-esque suit. From Jenny McCann: While planning her 25th birthday celebration, one of Ashley’s friends asked if they could invite a new acquaintance to the party. “I know this guy, he’s new to Dallas and needs to make new friends.” Ashley casually agreed saying, sure, why not, there’s going to be a bunch of other people there. Little did Ashley know that upon meeting this tall, dark and handsome “mystery man” they would immediately connect. TJ, who was obviously experiencing the same instant chemistry, did not hesitate to ask Ashley out for sushi and drinks and now a year later, the adventure continues!
Ashley and TJ both loved the idea of shooting at The Belmont, which is a historic 1940’s hotel on Ft. Worth Avenue here in Dallas. We came up with a loose concept; first getting cozy inside the hotel, and then enjoying the outside surroundings. I helped style the clothing to compliment the retro environment while still keeping it modern and timeless. Ashley did a great job with her own hair and makeup and looked gorgeous in the sheer lavender dress and two-toned silk wrap dress. TJ rocked his modern cut suit pulling off the ‘mad men’ look effortlessly. It was a gorgeous day with a beautiful couple in love and we had the best time exploring all that The Belmont had to offer.
