Mar01 Art with Nature and Michael Radford 2012

Today’s lovely yellow wedding comes to us from TWO of our Grey Collective members: Michael Radford Photography and floral designer, Art with Nature. Just for fun, we’re also feature the bride and groom’s separate pieces of advice! I love their thoughts–hindsight is so invaluable!

Jaime’s Advice: Don’t be concerned with sticking to a wedding “theme”.  If you pick out things you love, then your wedding will reflect your and your husband-to-be’s styles and personalities (plus you end up with tons of things to re-use for apartment decorations).  Use the help that is offered! My cousin was our officiant and planned the most adorable and funny ceremony.  My sister is a cosmetologist and did my hair and makeup and I was lucky enough to have a sister-in-law who is also a wedding coordinator.  Our wedding was planned in 6 months and I wouldn’t have survived if it wasn’t for the help of amazing and talented friends and family.

Kevin’s Advice: If you plan your wedding on your own, be sure to find a ‘day of’ wedding coordinator (maybe professional or maybe a trustworthy person who wouldn’t mind doing it). You don’t want to have to coordinate on your wedding day! You should enjoy every minute of it and be along for the ride without having to worry about having you or your family coordinating it. If you’re on a budget you can have fun without a DJ. Just spend time putting together a good playlist that gets all the guests on the dance floor. There are great mixing programs out there that allow you to create a professional mix without the DJ. Plus it’s fun to spend time with your fiancée making the playlist!

Your mom would certainly agree, no?
