Happy Engagement Wednesday! Today, I thought I’d start us off with something completely different from what you are used to seeing. Connie and Stewart decided to go into the studio for their engagement session. WHAT??? No field? I know. totally crazy, but super awesome. The high fashion concept works perfectly for their personalities and I just can’t get enough of these dark, moody, sleek, modern images shot by D. Park Photography. What do you guys think? Would you ever consider going into the studio?

Studio - loved it. Loved the shadows and bright pop of lipstick. However, a few of them came off like bad product shots for Gucci. It's one thing to like a brand but what's the deal with the bag and blanket? What's the personal connection? Just curious since it was billed as "engagement" shots.

  Hi KD. Actually, I think the couple did four or five different scenes, each with a different fashion theme. I only showed a few shots here, but the idea was to make it feel pretty fashion oriented. In terms of personal connection, I think the looks really reflects Connie and Stewart's style, so it made sense for them to bring along accessories that fit with the theme of the shoot. It's the same thing as a couple outdoors that might bring along a bike, or book, or grandma's blanket or what not. This is just a really different take on that. The point wasn't to make it look like product shots, but rather to show a few details that they brought with them that reflect the style of the shoot.

Hi KD, Thank you for your compliments! The bride works in fashion and is doing styling. She and the groom are having a fashion magazine themed wedding actually (complete with designer tables: Louis Vuitton, Gucci, etc.). So hence the fashion brands in their stylin' engagement session!

Ahhhhhhhhh. Now THAT makes me curious about the wedding. The photography is one thing, the story behind it made this one more interesting. Looking forward to more of these.
