I want to become a society lady Rockin' a new rock?!

Hidden in the heart of London lies a piece of historical romance—Home House, an elegant venue where celebrations and intimate moments have been captured since 1773. This gorgeous editorial planned and styled by Elmo Paper Stories and captured by Julie Michaelsen Photography celebrates the opulent, the intensity and the romance of the renaissance era seen here through the eyes of a 2018 bride and groom. The team, including florist Jo Flowers, cake designer Mimolo Designs, and atelier Morgan Davies Bridal were inspired by the contradictions of an old love in a young couple, the ancient venue in a modern city, and most of all by a piece of history where time stands still in a world of fast paced modernity.

“The smoothness and softness found in a perfectly chosen piece of cloth; the delicate elegance and brilliance of fine velvet.” This—the soft allure of velvet—inspired Rainbow Chan Weddings and Events  to create this stunning Vintage Velvet inspiration shoot. Set against the pristine elegance of Toronto’s historic The Great Hall, the details come together in a color scheme of vanilla white, slate, dusty blue, and lush natural green. Bouquets and floral furnishings by Wild North Flowers add vibrancy. A textural, calligraphy stationery suite by Ivory and Twine Co adds a timeless touch while introducing a slim velvet bow, a theme repeated in the perfectly understated cake by Rococoa Butter. The team enlisted the skills of film photographer, Muguet Photography, to capture all the details and wonderfully soft embrace of Vintage Velvet.

“Today is the day I marry you, my best friend” read the banner—in lovely brush lettering— behind Hannah and Isaac as they said their vows in front of 72 of their closest family and friends at Crabtree’s Kittle House. The bed and breakfast and it’s lovely gardens are set just 30 miles outside of New York city and created the perfect venue for the couple’s intimate wedding celebration. Rainstorms only accentuated the beauty of the grounds and the details of the day planned by Fitting Fêtes. The soft color palette and incredibly romantic florals by Heart and Soil Flowers are beyond photogenic and thankfully, Grey Collective member Katherine Ridgely was on hand to capture the details and lovely couple in her signature film style.

What made your wedding special and unique?

What made the wedding special and unique is that we were surrounded by a small group of people who truly loved us. We were determined from the start to only abide to traditions that had special meaning to us as a couple, and because of this we were able to keep our guest list small and intimate.

Tell us about your gown and where / how you found it!

I found my gown while working at Lovely Bride – I actually put it on a client and in that very moment knew it was for me!

Tell us about your venue and why it was memorable?

Answer: We only visited a few other venues before our visit to Crabtree’s Kittle House. We loved the beautiful space and how fitting it would be for our intimate gathering, but what really sealed the deal was talking to the team there. Unlike many other venues, they were flexible and open to customizing the experience for us and we really loved that.

What was the most memorable part of your wedding day?

There’s a part in that day that I’ll always remember – Isaac was walking around, talking to guests, and I was sitting at my seat. I took a moment to look around and everyone was happy, smiling, and there because they genuinely loved us and were happy for us. It was just maybe fifteen seconds or so, but I’m so glad I remembered to soak in that moment because it’s a memory I cherish every day. The other special moment was our first look! We hadn’t seen each other all day and right as I was walking up to Isaac, I felt so nervous! When he turned around I couldn’t help but shed a few tears – there were so many emotions running through me!

We can’t resist a good color story and the greens in this Tuscan Dream inspiration shoot from Save The Date are making us swoon. Set at Villa DiGeggiano with it’s endless hills and lands, richly showered in sun light, the shoot is the best of old-world Italy in it’s fall olive harvesting season. Colored with olive green, mustard, white and cream colors, details like stationery by Preta Papier, florals by Tulipano Decor and dining al fresco feel simultaneously fresh and timeless. Purple Tree Photography was on hand to capture all the Tuscan-sun-kissed details and we’re thrilled to share them with you today.

The draping, ghostly quality of the Spanish moss at River Oaks Charleston was the inspiration behind this stunning workshop hosted by Michael and Carina Photography.  East Made Event Company led the creative team in crafting details in a deep, rich, autumn color palette and romantic garden style that accentuates the richness of the grounds of the venue. Highlights include old-world stationery design by Maurelle Calligraphy and Design, a show-stopping bouquet and floral chandelier by  La Fleur du Jour and a delicate Alexandra Grecco gown. Lucky for us, The Ganeys were behind the lens capturing all the late-summer/early fall inspiration in these lovely film photographs.
