I want to become a society lady Rockin' a new rock?!

Sara and Ramsey knew they wanted to get married in Estes Park as they met, fell in love, and made their home in Colorado. Plus, they already had a tradition of hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park followed by pie from the Colorado Cherry Company. So that’s what they did, got married overlooking the mountains at Twin Owls and celebrated with a lovely lodge reception and pie from CO Cherry Co.. Add in bold and beautiful peony-centric florals by Hana Style and the gorgeous photography of Alix Loosle and we’ve got a stunning wedding in the Rockies for your enjoyment!

What were some touches added to make the wedding personal?

We knew we wanted to get married in Estes Park as we met, fell in love, and made our home in Colorado, plus we had a tradition of hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park followed by pie from the Colorado Cherry Company. For me, the most special part of our wedding was the involvement of our loved ones. From the pecan pies baked by my mother-in-law to the wreath made by my mom, and from the brother who acted as our officiant to the brother who performed our first dance song, the day felt like a reflection of us and the people we love.

What was the most memorable part of the day?

The most memorable part of the day was definitely the ceremony. Surrounded by our closest family and friends, looking out to the Rocky Mountains, and reciting our own personal vows of love and commitment to one another – it was the most beautiful and incredibly humbling experience. I will also always treasure the memory of dancing with my father, as well as the moment Ramsey and I stepped away for a few minutes to enjoy the sunset alone together. And, of course, the highlight of the night was dancing at the reception, complete with a spontaneous limbo made from groomsmen’s ties, army crawls, break dancing, and glow stick sunglasses. The day flew by, but it was everything and beyond what we had hoped for, and we are so grateful for the unbelievable amount of love and support we felt that day.

Tell us how you met and became engaged.

Ramsey and I met during our first year of law school at the University of Denver. We were next-door neighbors and classmates, so we easily found excuses to hang out – building a snowman, grabbing coffee, late-night studying, making dinner, or no reason at all. And while we immediately bonded over our similarities (being from neighboring hometowns, with geophysicist fathers, and having brothers named Zachary), ultimately our differences strengthened us most, as we challenged one another and grew together over the next four years.
