I want to become a society lady Rockin' a new rock?!

Saisai and Chang’s romantic, bohemian wedding is an homage to the garden setting of Allied Arts Guild. The design by Lovely Time Weddings & Events features a dreamy blue and dusty lavender palette and is filled to the brim with containers spilling over with graphic florals by Petals of Love. Personalized details are woven in throughout the day like the handmade dream catchers and watercolor portraits of the couple’s adorable cats. VID Studio was behind the scenes capturing all the inspiration in these lovely images of Saisai and Chang’s delightful wedding.

What made the wedding special and unique?

From the Planner: Saisai drew all her inspiration and theme from her wedding dress and the venue. Her romantic bohemian dress and dreamy blue color scheme inspired the dreamcatcher theme that were all handmade by the couple and decorated the foliage around the gardens. The dreamcatchers were incorporated in the design of the venue, from the sweetheart table, seating chat, to the woven decor of the greeting and cake tables.

Cats were also a large part of the couple’s love. The bride and groom were very happy to hear that the cats were allowed in the venue, although because the couple decided not to have the cats at the ceremony, they wanted to incorporate their family in the decor by having images of their pets drawn on the wedding program fan, menu, and guest cards, creating a unique way for the family that could not be at the ceremony, to still be there in spirit. We believe that the combination of the factors made this wedding very intimate and included many personal touches that related to the bride and groom. The event having a very romantic, dreamy, yet casual and happy atmosphere that we would love to share with other brides.

Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!

From the Bride:I had visited several boutiques and tried on various dresses with different silhouettes, textures, and designs, but never got that “wow” moment. It was then I realized that my favorite store, Antropologie, had a wedding line, and after browsing their website, I feel in love with this A-line style dress that was simple but full of details. I absolutely love my dress and would like to wear it and take a picture of my husband and me every year on our anniversary.

What were some touches added to make the wedding personal?

My husband and I had adopted two cats. They were mostly indoor pets, although we really wanted them to be part of our big day. We wanted to incorporate them into the wedding as they were also family to us. We used their illustrations on the stationery for the wedding, including program fans and guest seating cards. It was very personal for us and our guests also thought it was very adorable.

What was the most memorable part of the day?

The most memorable part of the day for me was walking down the aisle with my dad. Seeing my friends, family, and teammates on both sides of me, giving us their blessings. When I looked ahead, the man I am going to spend the rest of my life with was there waiting for me. It’s a scene I will never forget and one I will take with me as we spend the rest of our lives together.

Tell us how you met and became engaged.

We met through secondary mutual friends during our summer internship in he Bay Area. My friend and her boyfriend had planned a trip to Big Sur to introduce me to a friend of theirs. He also brought a friend, and that friend turned out to be Chang. We ended up hitting it off and dating. We’d dated for the next three and a half years before he popped the question. We took a weekend trip to Las Vegas when he suggested to ride the High Roller Ferris wheel. When we reached the top, he’d popped the question with the stunning the view of the strip below us.
