I want to become a society lady Rockin' a new rock?!

Kelly and Zac’s wine country barn wedding is an absolutely vision of beauty in the hue of lavender. Grey Collective member Kaella Lynn Events designed a masterpiece of casual elegance with florals by Amanda Vidmar Designs stealing the show at every turn. Invitations were created by the couple’s friend, designer Tim Praetzel, fabulous signage from Brown Fox Calligraphy adorned every attraction and Honeycomb Designs cake was definitely the icing on the gorgeous reception. Lynette Boyle Photography was on hand to capture it all in these lovely fine art photographs.

What made the wedding special and unique?

Coffee and milkshake bar + see question about personal touches-our venue, (which turned out to be the best thing that could have happened!!) was the perfect combination of my tastes (rustic/barn) and Zac’s (modern/airplane hanger)

We love swing dancing and practiced for 6 months to surprise our guests with a choreographed dance to start the party

Cake represented Zac’s photography

Stayed in one big house with our bridal party and got to spend the entire weekend with our closest friends/family

Guest book was a photo book of Zac’s pictures

Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!

Christina’s Bridal in Andover Massachusetts. I had a trip planned to visit my sister so my mom flew out so we could all go shopping together. On the flight over I was scrolling through Instagram and stumbled across a picture of this Hayley Paige gown. My sister and sent it to each other at the exact same time but didn’t have time to talk because my flight took off. By the time I landed my sister had snagged the last appointment at the only salon in Boston that sold her gowns. AND she was having a trunk sale. Meant to be!

I knew I wanted a short dress for the reception but once I found this dress I didn’t want to take it off!! So I purchased a short tulle skirt (from Bliss Tulle) and had a tailor cut my dress in half, add the short skirt and create a removable skirt out of the Hayley Paige gown.

What were some touches added to make the wedding personal?

-We wanted as many of our friends and family to be involved as possible in our big day.

-Our friend designed our invitation suite

-Our friend Adam Friedman sang processional songs

-Our best friend was our officiant

-My dad sang our first dance song

What was the most memorable part of the day?

-We didn’t do a first look so seeing each other’s reactions as I waked down the aisle and being able to share that moment & experience with all our guests

-Close second: jumping in the pool in our wedding clothes with our bridal party

Tell us how you met and became engaged.

We met in high school and dated for 8 years (3 long distance). Zac proposed by making a movie and filling the movie theater with 45 of our closest friends and family.
