I want to become a society lady Rockin' a new rock?!

Irene and Michael’s classic wedding at Pacific Palms Resort is a testament to the power of refined design choices. Coordination and floral design by Aquafuzion included an open air wine ceremony followed by a ballroom reception, each with an aesthetic focus on voluptuous white florals. The couple enlisted the skills of Mallory Dawn Photography to capture their big day and you can see all the lovely details in her light-filled images.

What made the wedding special and unique?

What made the wedding special was being able to share the day with all our family and friends. A lot of them traveled a great distance to come, from Paris, Cambodia, and Australia to name a few. It meant a lot to us that we were able to celebrate with all our loved ones.

Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!

The gown is by Justin Alexander, and I found it at Mon Amie Bridal Salon in Costa Mesa. I had visited about 5 other bridal stores before visiting Mon Amie. When I first saw the dress, it wasn’t on any of the racks with the other dresses. It was just hanging by itself. I immediately was wowed by it and asked to try it on. It was the first and only dress I tried on at Mon Amie. Right when I put it on, I knew it was the one.

What were some touches added to make the wedding personal?

Instead of exchanging vows, we opted to do a wine ceremony. We’re not ones to spill our love for each other in front of an audience, so we felt that a wine ceremony would be more fitting. If and when we open the letters, it will be that much more special because the letters are for our eyes only.

What was the most memorable part of the day?

The most memorable part of the day had to be after the ceremony, at our first look of the ballroom. We were blown away by how gorgeous everything came out. And for those few precious minutes, it was just the two of us, soaking in the moment that we are now man-and-wife, while we held each other on the dance floor.

Tell us how you met and became engaged.

We met 10 years ago at a mutual friend’s party and from that day on we were inseparable. It was on our 8 year anniversary that Mike proposed. Our anniversary fell in the middle of the week, on a Thursday. Mike had made reservations at our favorite restaurant, so I was rushing home from work trying to get ready. As I was getting ready, Mike called me out from our bathroom, and when I saw him down on one knee my mouth dropped. He asked those 4 words, and I said “yes!”
