Spanish Colonial Styled Shoot in Abu Dhabi

The inspiration for this gorgeous Spanish styled shoot began with the colonial elements of the venue, Yas Links, Abu Dhabi, UAE. The exquisite tablescapes and styling of The Purple Chair, the romantic and loosely draped florals by Volet, and beautiful photography by Maria Sundin all worked together to create a couple’s dream wedding on the shores of the Mediterranean. The quiet elegance of this shoot is breathtaking.
From the Purple Chair: Our couple were dressed with both an ethereal and powerful style; we wanted to reflect them as quiet individuals and also empower them in their relationship, fortified by their love for one another. We love the pictures of the bride softly getting ready, full of butterflies and excitement in the morning combined with the joyful strength that resounds when she is with her husband. He on the other hand is calm and reflective in the quieter moments before the ceremony.
The old colonial architecture of this Abu Dhabi location sparked an immediate vision of Spain for us and we wanted to reflect that feeling throughout this shoot. Not many venues can transport you back to Europe so vividly and this is where our inspiration began.
We instantly fell in love with the tactile elements of this venue and it was such a pleasure to entwine them into our narrative; the black cast iron chairs and silky smooth stone were all engulfed into the vision. We draped the venue with untamed florals and they remained beautifully dramatic against the simple lines and archways of our location.
Drawing upon the terracotta hues of the Mediterranean we wanted the table to have an effortless yet polished look. Simple details here ensured that the overall look was elegant and reflected our Spanish inspiration.
