I want to become a society lady Rockin' a new rock?!

What’s more lovely than a garden party style engagement or wedding celebration? We absolutely adore the inspiration put together today by Rachael Ellen Events with photography by Hillary Muelleck Photography. Those flowers, though? We’ve got a major major crush on those blooms created by Soil and Stem. Le sigh.

Alongside our co-hosts, Gianna SanFilippo of Chic Celebrations, Cortnie of The Venue Report and Sarah of La Tavola Linens, we recently had the chance to co-host a baby shower for our dear friend, Lauryl Lane, who welcomed her new twin girls nine weeks early! While the girls recovered in the NICU we had a chance to steal Lauryl away for an afternoon of celebration. Lauryl is an incredible floral designer, so it was a ton of pressure to make everything just right for her!

We turned to Flower Muse, who provided all the gorgeous blooms for us to arrange! If you haven’t heard of Flower Muse, they are an incredible delivery service of flower stems, perfect for those of you girls interested in doing flowers for your own wedding or event!

Lauryl’s mom, Victoria Hoke Lane, hand calligraphed all of the gorgeous envelopes, tea cups, and signage!

MaeMae Paperie designed gorgeous place cards that read:

“Two miracles born in the Year of the Horse—which, as the Chinese Zodiac tells us, means they will be bright, cheerful, popular, fun loving, perceptive, talented, earthy and stubborn. Their keen judgment and natural intuition often help them make the right decisions throughout their life. It is said, those born in the Year of the Horse don’t need to struggle in order to succeed and obtain the fine things life has to offer. They find people and crowds exciting and love parties. They are clever, kind to others, and their childish innocence, sunny disposition, and natural charm attract many friends.

May our two little darlings reflect these traits, yet even more so, may they take after their strong, gracious, talented and joyful mother who we celebrate today!”

Because the girls were born in the Year of the Horse, we decided an equestrian theme at the hottest new venue in town, The Loft on Pine, would be the perfect place! We brought in delicious rustic pies from The Pie & Beer Club, which were styled alongside antique details from Found Vintage Rentals. We also adored the industrial details like the gun metal chairs provided by Signature Party Rentals.

Delicious tea sandwiches, scones, and marmalade were brought in by Contemporary Catering to honor Lauryl’s English heritage and love of all things British.

You guys. This lakeside engagement session by Michael Radford Photography is just beyond romantic. Not only because of the killer backdrop, but also because it’s paired with florals by Art With Nature who has fast become one of our absolute faves. Don’t you just love the moody vibe of the darker flowers and suit, paired with all that gorg light? We thought you would.
