I want to become a society lady Rockin' a new rock?!

I was smitten the very moment I saw the words Great Gatsby. What’s even more, these images by Gavin Wade more than live up to the expectation of such a weighty title. I mean…it’s Great Gatsby. Anyone who has ever read the book has reveled in all the vintage socialite goodness, so using Fitzgerald for an inspiration wedding shoot could not be more of a dream come true. Styled by Gloria McCune of Grand Engagements, with insanely gorgeous flowers by Heavenly Blooms, this team of vendors (including the beautiful cake by My Sweet and Saucy) takes place at the most perfect location: Rancho Los Cerritos Historic Site in Long Beach. Check out more of the rad vendors below that helped put together all this lovely Gatsby goodness.

We think you will too.

Happy Tuesday! I hope you thoroughly enjoyed your Memorial Day weekend (a holiday which marks the sure sign that summer is hiding right around the corner). We’re starting this week off with dessert, because it should always come first, right?

I spied these lemon bread treats made by Glorious Treats, (click for the recipe!) and thought they’d make wonderful favors! They are dolled up with a free downloadable label from The Twinery, along with some of their bright yellow twine. Actual lemon bread might be a big project to make for hundreds of wedding guests, but it would work perfectly for a shower, no? My mouth is already watering.

(The lovely shot of lemons is via Decor 8, by Leslie of Creative Mint who writes my fave column, Color Me Pretty. She did a gorgeous feature with lots of yellow goodies, so if you’re looking for more yellow inspiration, you must check it out!).

I’m pretty positive this wedding belongs in Martha Stewart Weddings. In fact, I’m not quite sure how I’ve managed to get so lucky as to receive a submission from Avery House Photography. Their work is TO. DIE. FOR. In fact, if you go to their blog this very minute, you’ll be bowled over by another gorgeous shoot. But that’s distracting you from the point. Today, we are so lucky to have some more timeless and quite lovely photography from Avery House. The DIY touches from Liz and Michael’s wedding in Stillwater, Oklahoma offer just the right amount of charm.

Happy Friday, my lovelies. I wanted to do a little round up today. I’m always collecting inspiration over on Pinterest and at some point, it’s necessary that I share a bit with you. (But if you have a Pinterest account, you can always follow Grey Likes to keep up on a daily basis).

First, let’s discuss these gorgeous blooms by Poppies and Posies (originally blogged by Simple Song). There’s nothing like rustic flowers to add some character to a romantic bouquet, right? Just a little something unexpected. That’s my word whenever I style: “Unexpected.” Whenever Megan from MaeMae Paperie designs for me, she cracks up, because I always ask for “something unexpected.” I think it’s absolutely necessary to have an element that grabs your attention a causes a little ruckus with your eyeballs. It keeps you staring longer.

I also thought, for those of you crazy blog lovers like myself, that you’d adore the “I Love Blogs and Coffee” poster by Jen Ramos. I mean…doesn’t that belong above the area where your computer resides??

Also…how darling are those silver ice cream spoons? I think they make a perfect wedding or shower gift! And pink donuts? You guys…I love donuts. Much more than I love cake. So the idea of donuts at my wedding or shower…or brunch wedding…or brunch shower. Stop it right now. The ideas are flowing faster than I can type. Check out how to make your own over on Butterflyfood (found via Bonnie Tsang).

Also, my amazingly talent friend, Mindy Gayer, just launched her new styling site and I’m madly in love. You must check out her portfolio and her blog. Here’s one of my faves though, styled by Miss Mindy herself and shot by Jehna Raquel.

Today I’m on set styling for 31 Bits. Our guest model for this line is none other than one Promise Tangeman. Promise is totally web-famous so I’m super excited to work with her. I hope you enjoy your weekend darlings!

Every Valentine’s Day, I always think of my sister, Hayley. One year when she was single (and right before she met her now husband) she decided to spend Valentine’s Day working with my at the flower shop I worked for. By the end of her shift, she walked away absurdly depressed, as hordes of adorably dressed men came in to the shop to get flowers for their girlfriends. How depressing. A single girl around tons of taken men. Completely not fair. Thankfully the worst is over for my sister, but I still think of her saddest year every February.

We’re starting the morning off with two goodies. First is a little Valentine cheer, which we can’t do without whether or not you’re lucky enough to be in love.

In addition to all that pretty, we’re giving away two free tickets to Airplanes and Blazers to one lucky person. But there’s not much time!! If you are attending WPPI and don’t have your ticket to the party of the year, enter your name (and email address in the comment box) and we’ll randomly pick a winner and announce it later this afternoon! There’s hope for all you procrastinators who haven’t bought a ticket! Enter away. You do NOT want to miss it!
