Yeah insure your jewelry is great idea. As the diamond jewelry is too much expensive and it needs great care. Insuring your jewelry makes you feel yourself comfortable.

DEFINITELY INSURE YOUR RING, LADIES! My husband insured mine when he bought it and I have always taken great comfort in it. Most people think, “I am always going to wear my ring and not take it off, so there’s not a chance of it being lost or stolen.” But that’s not true. Of course, you mostly wear it always, but I spent many months (and years now, total) with mine off because of pregnancies. I had another smaller one, but my diamond sat in a box in my house. If someone had broken into our house, they would have had a great prize. So, even if you think you won’t take it off, insure it. You never know!!

It’s definitely worth getting your wedding band and engagement ring insured – especially if you’re a new mum! With all the hectic running around you’ll be doing with a newborn in your house, you’ll find it super hard to keep track of it – especially if you’re like me and constantly take it off to wash your hands etc.

I smiled when I saw this post because our insurance saved my ring AND my husband’s sanity. My darling then-fiance was being sweet one day and cleaning my ring with an industrial grade jewelry steamer. I should have realized he had no idea what he was doing and/or paid attention to the long hisses coming out of the machine (note to anyone who gets their hands on an industrial steamer- you’re supposed to do short bursts of like 2 seconds of steam, not hold it under the steam for a couple of minutes!). Next thing I knew, my then-fiance was white as a ghost holding a deformed ring with the stone wiggling around dangerously! The steam had actually melted the platinum! I don’t think my husband would have ever recovered from ruining my engagement ring, except that our jeweler fixed it in a few days and our insurance company covered the whole cost (which wasn’t cheap). So even if you can’t imagine losing your ring, insurance is worth it!

Yes I got my ring insured soon after receiving it from Perfect Circle. A friend of mine didn’t have insurance and while in the bathroom accidentally flushed it down the toilet as it must’ve fallen off her finger when she went to flush. I felt so bad as we work in a building with over 20 floors and there was no way to trace it after that.

I have had my ring insured since day one! My husband made sure to have the policy all ready before he proposed. I rarely take it off, but I feel much better knowing we could replace it if something terrible happened!

Um, yes, I’ve had my ring insured since day one. Not that it really matters… if I lost this ring, Sammy would KILL me. He’s the sentimental one. He would be so crushed it would be disastrous. But we have a Valuable Personal Property rental coverage for my ring and his ring and all my other jewelry, which is in addition to our renter’s insurance. Here’s to hoping I never ever have to use it!

Sadly, I did NOT have my engagement ring/wedding ring insured when I lost them. Making matters worse, they were soldered together – so I lost BOTH.

We did file a claim anyhow, and received a nominal amount under the general homeowner’s policy – but it was nowhere near the cost of the ring(s) when they were purchased, much less the cost to replace them years later.

It was a traumatic blur, and I STILL look for them (in vain – 10 years later), thinking they might turn up miraculously.

It was HORRIBLE. Please learn from my mistake. Insure your rings!

I did end up replacing the ring (no upgrade – just purchased similar stones in weight and quality and had the jeweler recreate the original set as one ring). The replacement, while beautiful, lacks some of the romantic sentimentality I had attached to the original. Needless to say, I added that one to the insurance policy the DAY I brought it home from the jeweler!
