I want to become a society lady Rockin' a new rock?!

If there’s anything we love about a good wedding, it’s personalty! Julia and Ezra celebrated their destination wedding at the Villa del Oso in Sayulita, Mexico. We love how the couple managed to inject the perfect amount of personality into their details to make their event a reflection of them but also still highlight the gorgeous Mexico location that was so special to them. A special shout out to the groom for the seriously cool paper design. Oh yeah—and the table greenery by Francisco Salazar  is a must-see. All this and more in these beautiful images captured by Jillian Mitchell.

What made the wedding special and unique?

We chose Sayulita because I had traveled through small towns in Mexico and always loved the vibe. After spending a week in Sayulita together, it was an easy decision. It’s so representative of who we are and we wanted to share this part of Mexico that our friends might otherwise not experience on their own.

What was the most memorable part of the day?

The quiet moment we had with each other during our first look photos. Our vows – we decided to write our own and it was a highlight of the wedding. When Charles’ shirt caught on fire from the flaming tray of tequila shots! When Julia’s aunt and uncle took over the dance floor for their rendition of Psy’s Gangnam Style. The feeling of being surrounded by so much love and laughter, not just the wedding day but the entire week – it was just so amazing and heartfelt.

Tell us how you met and became engaged.

Although we met many years before we started dating, it took us a minute to actually get together, and even longer (ahem Ezra – 12 years) for us to get married. Needless to say, we knew that when we finally did get married, we wanted it to be a week of memories and celebration for our friends and family.
