I want to become a society lady Rockin' a new rock?!

Chinese wedding traditions are often extravagant—a colorful and bold celebration of love. Beautiful as that may be, photographer Mattie C. set out to create inspiration for the more quiet, artistic and modern Chinese brides. Under her creative direction the team designed a shoot honoring Chinese culture with a soft and elegant color palette. Highlights include authentic blue porcelain dinnerware, graphic white arrangements and traditional floral crown and fan by Da Fiori Design, and calligraphy invitations by Maurelle Calligraphy and DesignMattie C. captures the delicate balance between Chinese elements and Western wedding design both as the visionary for the shoot and in her photographs.

from the photographer: The invention of porcelain was one of the biggest milestones in Chinese art history. Inspired by these beautiful porcelain designs and color palette, this wedding inspiration shoot is essentially based on this art form. From the traditional tea ceremony and qipao (traditional Chinese dress) to the wedding gown, table settings and decor, I wanted to put together something clean, modern, minimal, with abundant hints of Chinese traditions thoughtfully incorporated.
