Laura and Peter’s met on a trans continental flight from Burbank to New York. He was instantly smitten, and who could blame him–his bride a top model in NYC. In true jet setting fashion, their wedding day landed them at Gary’s Loft for a cosmopolitan fete next to the Empire State Building. Their entire wedding had a global vision which included a Geisha pouring sake, a “champagne and strawberries bar” that was set up in the bathroom (so fun, we promise!) with champagne served in a vintage claw foot bathtub, and to top it all off, midnight pizzas delivered from Otto, their favorite restaurant. Photographer Angela Cappetta shot these gorgeous images and we are honored to welcome her to the Grey Collective!
During the entire wedding Pete’s Grandma Rose stood watch. She owned a bridal shop for 30 years, while her husband owned a milliner’s supply, both in the garment district. The latter is where the fabric for Laura’s veil came from–the last bolt in the shop before it closed. Grandma Rose took it upon herself to oversee the dress’ intricate fittings and at the wedding, beamed at Laura, a vision in her charmeuse gown, and wisely nodded “my seamstress did a nice job.”
