I want to become a society lady Rockin' a new rock?!

Alright guys, this classic-glam wedding had got us feeling all (Sofia Copola) bubbly! The couple’s “romantic garden party” reception took place inside a traditional, downtown ballroom and the combo of the overflowing florals with the French Provincial architectural details fills our eyeballs with hearts. Seriously—how fab is is it that they brought in that topiary wall structure?! Lucky for us, Laura Ann Miller Photography captured all the fabulous details of Kristen and Dave’s big day!

From the bride: From the moment we met, we were instantly best friends. I know everyone says that…but it really is true. We were friends for 7 years before we even started dating and that gave us an amazing start to an even more amazing love story.

We wanted everything to have an effortlessly arranged look and feel, which includes the bridesmaids and groomsmen’s looks! I chose Donna Morgan dresses in grey because they were so light, airy and fit everyone beautifully. For the groomsmen, we wanted to keep it upscale but also wanted the guys to stand out a bit more, so we chose a navy blue tuxedo from theblacktux.com. The combination of navy and grey turned out beautifully with the rest of the elements of the wedding!

I imagined our wedding reception to feel like a romantic garden party with a lot of “Anthropologie” and vintage like qualities. I love flowers and I really wanted them to transform the ballroom into our own private garden. We chose 5 different level flower arrangements, with lots of lush magnolia leaves to compliment the blush and white peonies, parrot tulips, hydrangeas, astibles, and garden roses. The tables were set with an assortment of gold and silver tea lights and vases, assorted table linens to give a textured and romantic vibe, bowls filled with iced champagne and custom handmade menus that said “Let’s Eat”. The 4 cakes of different flavors were on display on a vintage dresser and custom cake toppers.

Dave and I wanted to make the day truly ours, so we tried to add personalized touches throughout the day. My very gracious bridesmaid offered to create our entire wedding suite, which included a custom “K & D” logo. Dave and I also have a dog that we are obsessed with but since she is a little too rambunctious for a wedding, we decided to have cookies created in her likeness to give as a treat to all the guests. It is not a St. Louis wedding without all the essential St. Louis late night snacks! Which include Ted Drewes ice cream, Gus’ pretzels and toasted ravioli!

The best decision we made was hiring the vintage car for after the ceremony. We wanted to take a few moments after the ceremony to just be alone as husband and wife. We had a vintage Rolls Royce pick us up at the church at take us to our house to take a few pictures before meeting up with the rest of the wedding party. We had champagne to toast our marriage and it was amazing way to reflect on the commitment we made to each other and the start of our new life together!
