Jennie and Eric wedding at La Cruces
featuring jillian mitchell
As wild winter weather whips across the country, we’re offering you the most beautiful destination wedding inspiration (a.k.a. vacation daydream material.) Cool, chill, gorgeous, effortless, fun…these are a few of the words we’ll use to preface Jennie and Eric’s incredible Baja celebration at Las Cruces. Event planner Marianna Idirin nailed every single splendid detail and our fave destination photographer, Jillian Mitchell, perfectly captured it all. You’re gonna LOVE it!
What made the wedding special and unique?
Getting married at Las Cruces was very special for Eric and I; he has been going there since he was a little boy and has always said that’s where he wanted to get married. When we were just dating, he brought me there on a family trip and we just knew we would be there again in the future to join as husband and wife. His parents also renewed their vows there ten years prior which made it extra special.
The other extra special part was that we wrote our own vows and surprised each other with them on the wedding day. We also rode a horse exiting our ceremony in transition to our reception. The band followed us and so did all of our guests, dancing the whole way! It was magical!
Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!
The gown is by an Israeli designer, Berta. I pinned dresses like crazy and decided on a few of the details I couldn’t live without: deep-v, cap sleeve, lace, and mermaid cut. I found it by researching different designers that had dresses I liked, then found boutiques and trunk shows that carried them! I found mine at Mon Amie Bridal in Costa Mesa, CA at a trunk show for Berta!
Something that was special about my outfit is that Eric gave me the earrings I wore as a surprise gift on the wedding day. They were moonstone which means new beginnings. In the box he included a note that I wrapped around my bouquet along with a diamond necklace my parents gave me that morning. The diamond they used was their engagement ring from when they first met. Loved having those close to my heart while walking down the aisle.
What was the most memorable moment of the day?
The most memorable part of my day was the look on Eric’s face as I walked down the aisle.
