We’re kicking off the holiday season with a gorgeous Carmel Valley winter wedding. Kylee and Kieran were married at Holman Ranch in a day filled with sophisticated, cozy details all planned by Heidi Hughett of Coastside Couture, Guests were greeted with hot apple cider and dined in a tented reception under romantic, custom light features by Seascape Flowers. We’re loving the pops of red including the seasonally appropriate pomegranate tablescape decor and the absolutely mesmerizing, all-red bouquet. Lucky for us, the couple enlisted Carlie Statsky to capture all the details of their absolutely stunning day.
From the bride: Every December, Kieran and I celebrate our anniversary in Carmel, which is also where he planned a beach proposal under a gorgeous full winter moon. It’s such a special place for us, that it was only fitting we have a December wedding in Carmel. And, even though it downpoured during our rehearsal the night before, Carmel Valley gave us gorgeous weather with an evening under another full moon. Holman Ranch was perfect for our style, rustic with vintage class and sophistication. We embraced the season and loved the idea of a winter wedding, with lots of white and sparkle for the holidays. It was important that every aspect of the day be genuine, memorable, and truly represent ‘us’. Frankly, we wanted to use our budget on items that we knew would make us smile and leave a lasting image in ours, and our guests’, minds. The amazing lighting, bonfires with s’mores and cozy blankets, live music, and ditching a big cake to instead opt for freshly made donuts, accomplished that goal. But, ultimately it was the elements our friends and family contributed that made our day especially amazing. The bouquets and boutonnieres were made with love by my very first babysitter; our dog, Eddie, was the ring bearer; our friend, Nate, married us; my best friend baked her famous red velvet in a mini cake to cut; and the fresh honey from our friend’s farm to gift as favors. It was stunning and spectacular, and filled our hearts completely.
From Heidi, the Planner: Kylee and Kieran were married on a crisp December day at Holman Ranch in Carmel Valley. Guests were greeted with warm apple cider as they arrived at the lovely vineyard ceremony lawn. The Ceremony included the Monterey String duo and was witnessed by family and friends and their beloved dog Eddie. Wine and cheese was served following the ceremony on the stone terrace. Dinner took place under a clear tent highlighted by a custom lighting feature created by Seascape Flowers, guests seated at long wooden tables. A pomegranate amuse bouche at each plate added a pop of color to the white decor. A dinner of grilled salmon and braised short-ribs followed. After the feast, guests moved to the Carriage House for dancing to the Steve Ezzo band, a dessert of made-to-order donuts by Harvey’s, and a hot chocolate bar.
