I want to become a society lady Rockin' a new rock?!

Alana and Blaine hosted a celebratory 180 guests at their Hummingbird Nest Ranch wedding, and made sure to include plenty of unqiue details to keep the atmosphere fun including Mexican cuisine for dinner, and sandals so guests could kick of their shoes and dance! We absolutely adore the blue hue that runs throughout her wedding decor, and that father of the bride is looking pretty spectacular in his blue tux, don’t you think??? We’re so crazy about these photos by RomaBea Images!

What made the wedding special and unique?

The guests in attendance! To look around and see a huge crowd of people, but then to recognize each face was a moment I will never forget. What made the wedding unique was how the day encompassed “us”. We had Mexican food (our favorite cuisine) and we had fresh donuts being made to order which was a huge hit for all our guests!

Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!

I took some of my bridesmaids along to a Watters trunk show since I loved all of their bridesmaids dresses, and was exploring that option. As it turned out, I had my bridesmaids pick out their own individual navy dresses and I LOVED the outcome, everyone was happy. Though unplanned, I decided to try some Watters dresses on, and the one I chose was everything I was looking for. I said yes so quickly, it was quite exhilarating! I went through a mix of emotions wondering if I’d made the right choice but in the end I really loved my dress and judging by my husband’s first look reaction, he did too!

What were some touches added to make it personal?

I really wanted to make our guests feel comfortable and express our gratitude to them for coming, near and far to celebrate our day. We had a fairly large wedding of 180 guests, so it was difficult to spend time with each person individually. We had “thank you” escort cards, sandals for dancing, bathroom necessities, and so forth to make them feel appreciated. I also had some family members that were no longer with us, so I had a charm for each of them represented on my bouquet.

What was the most memorable part of the day?

I don’t think I can pick a favorite! I was so excited to arrive at our venue, and it really hit me that the day was here! Seeing my husband Blaine for the first time was a moment I’ll never forget, his emotion explained it all. The father daughter dance was also something I’ve anticipated since I was a little girl.

Tell us how you met and became engaged.

My husband and I happened to meet through my brother Greg who always wanted me to come visit him in college and I never got around to until his graduation! Low and behold, that’s when I met Blaine. We dated long distance for 2.5 years and after 3.5 years he decided to pop the question during a Hot Air Balloon ride in Temecula!
