I want to become a society lady Rockin' a new rock?!

Lauren and Jimmy’s intimate garden wedding at CJ’s off the Square was filled with family, emotion, personal details and some pretty spectacular florals by Enchanted Florist. We’re especially loving the palette of the golden-peachy florals with the taupe Dessy Collection bridesmaids dresses. By far the best detail, however, was the way the couple was absolutely glowing in all the love on their big day and Amy Nicole Photography was at their side to capture it all.

What made the wedding special and unique?

Our wedding ceremony was in a small intimate garden. Our loved ones were literally within an arm’s length from us as we prayed and said our vows. The love in that small garden created emotions neither of us had ever felt before and it was special sharing that with our family and friends. I think anyone will tell you that being able to marry your best friend is special in itself, but on our wedding day we truly felt like every single one of our guests was just as excited as we were about our marriage.

Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!

I originally saw a picture of my gown online. I already had an appointment to try on dresses at Vocelles so I emailed them to see if they had that particular dress at their store. They emailed me back saying they did not have it but that they would pull some styles for me to try on based on my style preference. In the time between that email exchange and my appointment they received a sample of the dress. It was the first dress I tried on and after trying a few others we all knew it was the one! This was my favorite part of the wedding planning process!

What were some touches added to make it personal?

I feel like we had so many! All of our signs at the wedding were designed by my cousin as well as the thank you place cards. My parents made the wooden chair signs and the hanging wood heart with the love quote, which we now use as part of our home décor! I had the sleeve of my mother’s wedding dress made into a pocket on the inside of my dress that held a photo of my grandparents. I wore my grandmother’s double pearl ring and wrapped my bouquet my great grandmother’s baby blue handkerchief. But the memory mantle in the cake room, which was filled with photos of loved ones no longer with us or unable to attend, was my favorite detail.

What was the most memorable part of the day?

I think we can both agree our first look was amazing and very emotional at the same time. I will never forget the look on Jimmy’s face when he turned around and saw me! We were so excited to see each other and I am glad we had that time alone together before the ceremony.

Tell us how you met and became engaged.

We met at a sports bar watching a Florida State football game with friends. After talking for a while we discovered that we had both attended FSU at the same time and had many mutual friends. We began dating and after one and a half years we planned a vacation to Ponte Vedra, FL with each of our families so they could meet for the first time. I was the only one to not know that Jimmy was going to propose! It was quite the surprise!
