What made the wedding special and unique?

My vision for our wedding was “vintage romantic” and I chose a palette of yellow, gray and ivory tones to set the mood. We booked Sassi in North Scottsdale as the views from the ceremony site were breathtaking, and the dining room was just the right size for our 80-person event. Not to mention the food, service and atmosphere are superb! Once Sassi was booked I finalized my photographer, Rachel Solomon, my florist, Sarah’s Garden, my hair & makeup artist, Jessica Fierro, as well my entertainment, DJ Mars.

Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!

After I had the main vendors locked in, I set out in search of the perfect lace dress and veil to truly give me the vintage romantic feel I was hoping to achieve. After visiting a few boutiques in the Valley, I found my Pronovias gown at Lillian Lottie Couture in Scottsdale. The dress was absolutely perfect and exactly what I had always envisioned. I then found my Juliet Cap inspired veil at Sibo Designs on Etsy.com and it fit the style of the dress perfectly.

What were some touches added to make it personal?

Most of my décor came from various vendors I found on Etsy and all of the items I purchased were of high quality. The tables looked amazing set with dark fruitwood chivari chairs, custom made gray and ivory contemporary table runners, mismatched mercury glass votive candle holders, antique silver candy dishes with pastel candies, and mercury glass vases filled with flowers in my tones of yellow and ivory. My florist really polished the look by incorporating a variety of garden roses, hydrangeas, succulents and other garden flowers to give a soft and romantic feel. Combined with a four-course dinner, photo booth, karaoke and plenty of wine to go around, it was the most perfect day I could have imagined.

What was the most memorable part of the day?

The wedding planning process was effortless as I was lucky enough to have selected the most top notch, easy-to-work-with wedding professionals in the Valley. If not for all their combined expertise and true dedication, my September 19th, 2014 wedding would not have been the storybook, picture perfect day that it was.

Tell us how you met and became engaged.

I met my husband Nick at a bar over 5 years ago. Who would have thought I would meet “Mr. Right” at a bar of all places?! That night I went out with my roommate and it was destined to be. I ran into an old friend who I hadn’t seen for over a year and he turned out to be my future husband’s new roommate! Nick and I had instant chemistry and from that night on we were inseparable. We did things a bit backwards and moved in together, got the dog together and bought a house together, all before he finally proposed.

Nick is a hopeless romantic and he created the most amazing and thought out proposal ever! I came home from work one Thursday in September to a trail of rose petals and candles leading the way from our front door to the back patio. The patio was covered in flower petals and candles and sitting on the bistro table was a dozen yellow roses, my favorite, homemade chocolate covered strawberries, and a bottle of champagne.

Nick was so nervous, which was adorable, and I thought he would just ask me then but nope, he made me wait some more. What are a few more minutes of suspense after waiting over 4 years for this to finally happen? He set up a scavenger hunt around the house with each clue containing a picture of us dating back from when we first met. The final clue brought me back to the bistro table where the ring box was taped underneath. I opened the box and inside was the sweetest and most heartfelt letter he had written. He didn’t officially ask me but I said “yes” as he placed the ring on my finger. We got married almost exactly one year after becoming engaged, which seemed like an eternity until the final couple of months.
