I want to become a society lady Rockin' a new rock?!

Chance and Miranda hosted an intimate 50 person wedding in their own backyard! They wrote their own vows, had a friend perform the ceremony, and recruited friends to help with decor, flowers and even lighting. Everything was personal and handmade! But Miranda made sure to tell us…the most memorable part of the day? Their vows! She recalled, “Reading our vows to each other was very emotional, and I will never forget the promises we made to each other that day or the look on Chance’s face as we spoke those words in front of the ones we love.” Well, with that perfect sentiment, let’s dive into photographer Katie Stoops‘ gorgeous images, shall we?

What were some touches added to make your wedding unique?

It was such a wonderful weekend. So many friends came into town early to help us with all the details like hanging the lanterns and bistro lights in the yard, and making the chalkboards for the menus. My girlfriends helped do all the decorations and the floral arrangements for the tables. It truly was a labor of love. Chance personally built each table himself. We now use the one we sat at as our dining room table. I love that we will sit at that table with our family for years to come.

Tell us your love story!
Chance and I met while both in relationships with other people. I was a bartender and he was an occasional customer. We lived about an hour away from each other, but happened to run in to each other one night while out with friends. After hanging out with him that night , I realized how much I wanted to get to know him more.  He obviously felt the same, because we have been together ever since. I left my hometown and job to move to Harrisonburg to be with him six years ago and it was the best decision I ever made. I now own a clothing boutique downtown that he helped me open.
