I want to become a society lady Rockin' a new rock?!

Happy Arbor day everyone! This whimsy, chic and sustainable vow renewal is a celebration of the holiday which, on a spiritual level, is about holding tight to your roots.  Set at the Anew Rooftop, the look is fresh with a downtown-cool vibe and infused with pastel colors of shale blue, blush and green. Kate & Company designers carefully curated a mix of modern and vintage tabletop elements to reflect the old becoming “anew.”  On the locally sourced, reclaimed barnwood table, the team chose an assortment of live plants—in lieu of florals—to repurpose and donate after their stylish debut for the shoot.Watercolor china plates were truly a work of art reflecting images of birds and blooms alike. We’re LOVING this look which could also translate beautifully at a shower or rehearsal dinner. The visuals are completed with a stunning bouquet and installation by Flowers and Weeds and soft calligraphy invitations by On three Designs and all the details are captured beautifully by Untamed Heart Photography.

form the team: Arbor Day is a landmark for renewal and regrowth and this styled shoot was centered on just that vision. Partnering with Anew event space seemed like an obvious choice given their foundation rooted in Big Brothers, Big Sisters of America. Anew is owned and operated by this organization whose mission statement speaks to trusting, enduring relationships that create new memories.

Arbor Day, on a spiritual level is about holding tight to your roots. Anew has its roots planted in history, and is a tribute to those who have sought to bring us all together. The Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri building once held the St. Louis Woolworth store. It was the site of sit-ins in the 1950’s, and protests in the 1960’s. Today, it is proud that it is a place where anyone is welcome. Anew was constructed facing the sunrise to remind us that everyday is Anew with possibilities.

Advice from a tree served as the backbone of the feature, reminding us to:

Stand tall and proud

Go out on a limb

remember your roots

Drink plenty of water

be content with your natural beauty

enjoy the view
