Dec12 Shoot This Not That: Surf & Sand 2011
This week, we’re starting you off with the inspiration shoot we put together for our Shoot This Not That workshop, which took place last month. We hosted a group of photographers to discuss and practice techniques for getting their work published! These images are perfect for those of you gals planning weddings for this summer! Navy, blush and gold? Heart it. Infinity.
We were so honored to be hosted by the Surf and Sand Resort, which offers impeccable service, amazing food, and stunning views (hello dream wedding venue!).

Elaine Chou from Papermade Design created the most PERFECT line of custom stationery for our shoot! I love the ombre color with pops of stripes!

Fayaz of Bloom Box Designs created the most GORGEOUS bouquets and florals. He also styled our entire tablescape, which as you’ll see is drop dead gorgeous. How much do you love the bouquets unique shape? Chiavari chairs were from Classic Party Rentals. Their service is always the best!

The gorgeous hair and make up was by the Hair by Merr team! Love those glamorous lips!

Perfect nautical linens from Wildflower Linens.

To work with our romantic nautical look, we decided to use an old oar as our guest book! Attendees signed in a gold pen and it’ll make a great wall ornament!

Our groom’s bow tie is from Starboard Clothing. (I LOVE their selection of men’s bow ties, with really unique patterns!). Our bride’s sandals are total glam “Gold Cascade” from Fibi and Clo. They are crazy sexy sandals. If you are having a beach wedding and are looking for a bridal sandal, these are perfect.

And how can we leave out that stunning dress? We added on an H&M belt to a dress from Enzoani.

In addition to the class and shoot, we brought in mentor photographers Troy and Aimee Grover. We also had Jeannie Savage from Details Details as a guest speaker. All of these beautiful images were taken by Troy and Aimee Grover as well as our attendees: Jamela Robledo, Spotted Photography, Jennifer Sosa Photography, Melinda Haverstock, Sarisa Nelson, Janel KG Photography, Green Tree Photography, Peacock Photography, Alissa McCawley, and Carina Skrobecki.
Also, we’re very thankful to Miller’s Lab for sponsoring our giveaway, and for additional giveaways from Totally Rad Actions, Two Bright Lights and Showit Sites (who gave away a website to one of our attendees!).
Dec06 Sneak Peek: Meet Adam Barnes 2011
This week, we’re showing off our rockin’ Collective members that we’ve been curating since the summer. (To celebrate, we’re giving away a KitchenAid Mixer. Did you see? Wanna win? Join our society!)

We had sooooo many beautiful images from our Punch Drunk Love wedding shoot that I styled for the new issue of Southern Weddings Magazine, that we couldn’t resist a double post! If you haven’t seen the first feature with all of our vendors, you can head here!
I still love love love the idea of a fun afternoon cake and punch reception with casual romance that’s still very stylish and fashionable while absolutely affordable. Here are lots more of our shoot with images by Bradeon Flynn, styling by Summer Watkins and Cortnie Purdy, and stationery by MaeMae Paperie.
