Jan06 Wedding Belles (and Whistles) From Kate Spade 2012

Oh dear. Now we’re in trouble. Kate Spade–if you haven’t already seen or heard–launched a wedding line last spring, with bits of goodies for the aisle bound bride with just the right joie de vivre. Now that we’re on the hunt for shower season, it’s all we can think about…

Nov21 A Rustic Thanksgiving 2011

I hope you are as excited as I am about Thanksgiving this Thursday! Bryan and I have a long list of dinners and brunches to attend and for the first time ever, I’m hosting my very own, very small, Thanksgiving dinner. I’ve been on the hunt for a little Thanksgiving inspiration, so we’ll be sharing some of our favorite finds with you this week! First up today is this rustic Thanksgiving shoot with florals and styling by Honey and Poppies, heirloom place settings and food styling by Casa de Perrin, and photography by Braedon Flynn. This shoot was originally featured over on Design Sponge, however we’ve got lots of extra images to share with you to get you inspired!

To get us in the holiday spirit, I’d love for you to share one of your favorite Thanksgiving traditions or even your favorite dish you look most forward to! I’d say for me, my favorite part about Thanksgiving is spending the entire day in the kitchen with my mom, sisters, and brother-in-law, Taylor, who cooks up a storm. There’s something about cooking and great conversation that goes so well together! And I know it might sound silly, but I always really look forward to homemade cranberry sauce! Mmmm…

Honey and Poppies  :  design and florals (which included lots of vintage mixed metal vessels filled with foraged leaves along with dahlias, roses, and berries, a hanging installation of crabapple branches, mini bouquets for the placecards, and a mantle styled with many types of pumpkins and squash) // J and R Foods: menu design and cooking // Casa de Perrin:  heirloom placesettings and food styling // Found Vintage Rentals: design and furniture // Pitbulls and Posies:  lasercut paper goods based on the idea of a modernized deconstructed quilt // Braedon Flynn:  photography // Carondelet House:  location // Dovetail:  coordination

Oct05 Pomegranates: Seasonal Inspiration 2011

One of my favorite ways to find inspiration for an event is to look to seasonal items and ingredients that are abundant! With autumn in full bloom, farmer’s markets and produce aisles are now featuring the ever so hard-to-eat-but-totally-worth-it fall fruit–pomegranates! Their pop of saturated color is an ideal starting point for a fall color palette! Check out some of my favorite images from an inspiration shoot put together by photographer Anabella Charles and floral designer Karen Woodward of Haute Horticulture (along with rentals from Mahaffey Rentals).

I also love the ombre cake colors!

Aug19 Oh, Kate! 2011

We’re heading out to the weekend, so of course, you need a little inspiration for making refreshing cocktails, right (get that bar cart from Society Social in your life immediately)? And what’s a cocktail without a little Kate? Kate Spade, that is.

Also, you guys, check out my fave ladies over at 100 Layer Cake, who are now adding services into their pop up shop. Super rad deals and discounts available for a limited time! This week is The Flashdance. (Lovah!). Are you into it?

Have a gorgeous weekend! See you back bright and early, Monday morning with a CRAZY RIDICULOUS AWESOME announcement for you. For reals. Bright early, chicas. Get here.

Jun21 bridal shower brunch (and a note on inviting boys!) 2011

Happy first day of summer!!! It’s official. Today is the first day of freedom (at least that’s the way it used to be, right?). I thought we’d kick off the season with a gorgeous shoot styled, coordinated and designed by Natalie of A Good Affair Wedding & Event Production with photography by Marilyn Nakazato Photography.

As you’ll see, the images are of a brunch event, meant for either a rehearsal or a shower. This is the point at which I’d like to interject: what do you think of co-ed showers? I LOVE the idea. Bryan and I have a great group of couple friends, and I’ve always thought it would be a blast to include the men in the fun (not that they all are looking for a chance to have to dress up in a suit…but whatevs. They deal when it’s important, right?). I thought I’d ask you all…what type of showers did/are you having? Were any of them co-ed? Did you love it or hate it? Would you like to have the guys around?

While you mull it over, here are some gorg images, with lots of talented vendor credits below!
