Grey Likes Weddings Rockin' a new rock?!

So many things to pin, so little time! With design centric weddings being ALL the craze, how’s a girl to choose a wedding theme? Glitter, patterns, rustic, vintage, modern, simplistic, where do you begin?

Lucky for us, there are industry professionals who dedicate their working lives to making us (bride-to-be’s) happy… Can I get an AMEN! These pros work night and day to work with our vision, or create one when we just can’t seem to wrap our minds around all the pretty things. But where, oh where do we find these wedding fairies? Wedding shows!

Going to your local wedding show is a must-do for any bride. Grab your mum or your closest gals and prepare to be inspired.

Top 5 reasons to attend a wedding show:

#5 FREEBIES! You will get to sample the latest body lotions, nail polishes & bath salts and more. You will also have the chance to win free wedding planning services, a free honeymoon, free bachelor/ette parties, etc.

#4 SUPPORT LOCAL TALENT. There are so many talented vendors that I bet you had no idea were in your area. Even long after the wedding, the cards you’ve collected from hairdressers, makeup artists, invitation specialists & florists will surely come in handy for future events.

#3 GIRLS DAY! With the wedding approaching you will notice that your weekends will book up quickly and quality gal time might be hard to find. Where else will you be able to pamper yourself, have some cocktails and watch a fashion show for under $30? Oh that’s right, nowhere.

#2 GOOD EATS. If you’re a sucker for tasty treats like me, a wedding show is sure to please your taste buds. You’ll find yourself presented with an array of hors d’oeuvres and delectable desserts that you will not be able to refuse.

#1 INSPIRATION AT LAST! What better place to find inspiration than an entire event catered to showcasing different centerpieces, color combos, themes and gowns? Take pictures. Take business cards. Take it all in.

One of my faves from the fashion show. And yes, that’s Alison McGill from Weddingbells on the right!

I recently went to Maddy K’s Bridal Boudoir Affair… OH. MY. GOD. After having dabbled in wedding planning and working several wedding shows, I can honestly say that there is nothing like this haute couture event. With a burlesque flare, sexy Gatsby atmosphere and hand selected vendors; this was truly an exceptional experience featuring some of Montreal’s best talent.

While future brides were taking note of all the must-haves, the grooms were well taken care of, sipping their favourite liquor in the Mont Blanc and Mercedes-Benz men’s lounge. Thought wedding shows were for women only? Think again!
