A few weekends ago Paul and I had the wonderful pleasure of working with Jessica DeAgazio of Love & Light Photographs for a little engagement shoot that took place in Manhattan’s oh-so-romantic Central Park. Yes, the very same place we fell in love and got engaged.
Jessica and I are old intern buddies from our days at InStyle magazine where she was a fabulous photo intern and I was just trying to figure out what a Louboutin was. When I discovered she’d started Love & Light Photographs I knew I had to get an engagement session with her and as you can see from the photos, I’m sure glad I did.
You all know from my post about our wedding day photographer Zac Wolf, photography is something I care deeply about and have very high expectations for. That said, I couldn’t speak higher of Jessica and her talents. She made us feel comfortable and relaxed the entire time. The minute I started doubting the light conditions or the poses, she’d show me a glimpse of her camera and right then and there, the raw, unedited version of the photo would take my breath away. I’m telling ya, homegirl knows what she’s doing. She’s a rare, true talent who I feel lucky and spoiled to know.
There are so many aspects of the engagement shoot that could go awry and I didn’t fully understand that until Jessica was positioning my hands, ring, hair (thank God for her hair adjustments!) and so on and so forth. She actually carried both of our bags, along with her own, just so she could capture natural shots as they happened. What a girl! We were floored by her energy, talent and friendliness. She brought a positive, stress-free energy to the shoot that is so apparent in her work. Okay, okay, enough from me.
