Norma and Alex’s wedding is so unique and close to home! They drew on their own cultural heritage and created a wonderfully personal wedding inspired by their Mexican American traditions. Everything from the lace bolero on Norma’s dress to the delicious Mexican fiesta was thought through! Enjoy all the beautiful images and details brought to you by photographer Jen Philips!

From the photographer, Jen:

Norma and Alex both come from large Mexican-American families, and brought them all together for this wedding celebration at St. Vincent’s School for Boys in Marin County, CA. Their entire day was infused with elements of their cultural heritage, from the the ‘laso’ and passing of coins during the ceremony, to the all-female mariachi band, and the attempted undressing of the groom at garter-tossing time. The reception of 300 guests took place in the open-air courtyard of the historic St. Vincent’s grounds well into the night. Rustic touches and splashes of pink decorated the reception, all pulled together for the day by Norma herself.
